Time Off
In Uruguay, employees are entitled to 20 days of paid vacation after completing one full year of service. This vacation must be taken as continuous days unless the employee agrees to split it. Every additional four years worked for the same employer, employees accrue one extra vacation day, up to 25 days. Vacation pay must be provided before leave begins. Vacation pay is pay equal to an employee's standard pay in addition to the standard salary they would receive during vacation. For example, if an employee makes $100/day regularly, and is going to take 5 days of vacation, they would be entitled to a $500 payment in addition to their regular salary.
